Clark Atlanta University celebrated the opening of its Student Success Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a “Beyond the Degree” panel discussion hosted by President George T. French Jr., Ph.D., and moderated by ABC News correspondent Linsey Davis. The event brought together university leaders, trustees, business and civic leaders, and students to discuss how higher education can prepare students for success beyond graduation.

The center brings first-year advising, ongoing academic support, tutoring, writing assistance, coaching, and career services together in one location. These resources are designed to help students navigate their academic journeys, strengthen their skills, and prepare for careers, graduate study, and other professional opportunities.

The discussion also highlighted CAU’s commitment to workforce readiness. Through a seminar for first-year students, students are completing an IBM AI literacy badge, which makes them eligible for a paid micro-internship to gain practical experience and build their professional portfolios. Panelists also emphasized the value of internships, mentorship, critical thinking, and networking.

The center reflects Clark Atlanta University’s commitment to supporting students from enrollment through graduation and equipping them with the resources and experience to pursue meaningful careers.
