Dear Clark Atlanta University Family,
I am deeply moved by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support that my family and I have received during this time of mourning following the passing of my beloved mother, Mrs. Dorothy J. French. Your kindness and compassion have provided immense comfort, and I am profoundly grateful for each and every one of you.
I am honored to announce the establishment of the George Tony, and Dorothy Jewell French Scholarship Memorial Fund at Clark Atlanta University honoring my parents' legacy.
This fund will support students in need at Clark Atlanta University, reflecting my parent's lifelong commitment to education and service to community.
Contributing to this fund would be the most impactful gesture for those who wish to express their support. It allows my parents' spirit of generosity availed with their demands of academic fervor aligned with service to Christ to guide the touching of lives.
We kindly suggest being a charter contributor to this fund in lieu of sending flowers or traveling to attend the homegoing services at the family church, which has a maximum capacity of 300 persons.
The Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where my parents were Charter members, and my mother served on the Mother Board was founded by my grandparents, John Thomas and Lucy Mae French in 1946. My eldest sister Alyce French Johnson currently serve as pastor of Oak Grove.
Once again, thank you for your unwavering support in helping to turn our sorrow into a legacy of hope and opportunity for future generations.
With heartfelt gratitude,
President George T. French, Jr., Ph.D.
