Bio: Dr. J. Fidel Turner, Jr., a Clark Atlanta University alumnus, has served as Dean of the School of Education since 2018. Previously, he was Associate Professor and Senior Associate Dean at Howard University. With experience as a professor, department chair, and licensed counselor, Dr. Turner is recognized for teaching excellence across several institutions. His research focuses on underserved populations, counselor education, and academic persistence. He has published widely and contributed to federal initiatives. Dr. Turner also served the U.S. House of Representatives in employee assistance services. He holds degrees from the University of South Carolina and Clark Atlanta University and remains active in leadership and community service.
