Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education Degree Program prepares students to be certified to teach preschool to grade five (P-5). Applicants who are interested in eligibility for teacher certification should contact the department chair.
Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Elementary Education Degree Program will be able to:
- Apply a broad knowledge of instructional strategies that draws upon content, pedagogical and cultural competence.
- Develop and implement meaningful learning experiences that support academic achievement of diverse learners, their families, and communities.
- Demonstrate classroom behaviors that are consistent with the ideals of fairness and the belief that all students can learn.
- Apply authentic emerging models of best practices in diverse field settings based on research on teaching and learning for P-12 classrooms.
