  1. Program Requirements: Students must complete 30 semester hours to earn the Master of Arts degree in accounting.
  2. CPA Exam Eligibility: Completing this program satisfies the educational criteria for eligibility to sit for the CPA examination in most states and territories.
  3. Additional State/Territory Requirements: Candidates are strongly advised to verify any other course requirements specific to their desired state or territory for CPA certification.
  4. Sample Plan of Study: A suggested study plan is provided as an example of how required and elective courses can be structured. However, it’s not mandatory, and students must fulfill program requirements and course prerequisites.
  5. Elective Courses: Students are encouraged to choose graduate electives not only from accounting but also from related business disciplines like Finance, Marketing, Management, Economics, Decision Science, and Computer Information Systems.
  6. Restrictions on Electives: Basic courses that significantly overlap with the program’s entry requirements won’t count as graduate electives for the Master of Arts in Accounting program.
  7. Student Advisor: The Chairperson of the Accounting Department acts as the student advisor for the Master of Arts program in accounting, guiding students through their academic journey.
