Research Interests: My teaching philosophy has evolved over time. Not only has it changed with state-of-the-disciplinary advancements regarding how individuals learn, but it is also underpinned by my personal experiences as a wife, mother and grandmother. I am a believer in cross disciplinary systems thinking.

Bio: Dr. Doris L. Terrell is an experienced educator with a background spanning K–12 and higher education. She holds degrees from Lane College, the University of North Dakota, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Union Institute and University. At Clark Atlanta University, she has served as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Chair of Curriculum and Instruction, overseeing accreditation efforts. Her research focuses on multicultural education, charter schools, and peace education, with presentations at national conferences and published book chapters. Dr. Terrell currently serves as Executive Director of the National Association for Peace/Anti-Violence Education.
