The totality of an applicant's file is evaluated before a final decision is rendered. CAU School of Business Administration seeks the most promising student in intellectual vitality, demonstrated leadership skills, potential, personal qualities, and contributions to the MBA for Working Professionals Degree program. In addition, interested applicants must have 3-5 years of relevant work experience. An applicant may apply for the fall semester.  

Clark Atlanta University School of Business Administration has a "rolling admissions" policy. The Admissions Committee will review each file on a holistic basis. Following are the admissions requirements for the Full-time MBA Program.

Admissions Requirements

Application: Complete the online application. The application fee is waived.

Transcripts: Candidates must have the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. CAU requires official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions you have attended. The Committee will review the overall GPA as well as the GPA in major when making a decision.

GMAT or GRE- We accept GMAT or GRE. GMAT/GRE waiver available to qualified applicants – Please send official score report directly to CAU. NOTE: CAU/CAU School of Business' GMAT code is 5110, and GRE code is 5110.

However, in exceptional cases, the GMAT/GRE waiver may be granted. If you have not taken the GMAT or GRE and wish to be considered for a test waiver, submit an appeal for a GMAT/GRE waiver with your application for admissions. A submitted application and degree transcripts are required for test waiver review.Applicants may be considered for a GMAT waiver or GRE waiver based on other qualifications, such as:

  • Having already earned a previous graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Demonstrate prior academic achievement combined with career experience 
  • Have at least five years of full-time professional experience that may include the responsibility of managing others, managing a budget, or expertise in information technology or data analysis

Letter of Intent: Applicants should provide a Letter of Intent that describes the uniqueness of his/her character, abilities, issues of diversity, academic history, community service activities, and professional experience. Additionally, the statement should discuss the applicant's interest in the Clark Atlanta University School of Business Administration MBA program (CAUSBA MBA) and how completing the CAUSBA MBA will facilitate realizing his/her dreams and aspirations. 

Letters of Recommendation: Two (2) "Letters of Recommendation" that address a candidate's intellectual and personal capabilities. Topics should cover personal integrity, ability to work with others; leadership qualities; oral and written communication skills; and community involvement. Letters should be completed by a supervisor, a member of academia, and someone who can attest to these capabilities.  

Professional Resume': A professional resume should include personal information (name, address, telephone number, and email address), educational background, work experience (start and end dates for each position and a brief description of responsibilities), internship experience, academic or professional research, publications, educational training, professional associations, and leadership experiences. Please limit your resume to two pages.  

Interview: An interview may be requested for selected applicants.   

International Applicants:  International applicants must have a minimum of 5 IELTS or 46 TOEFL scores to be admitted to the graduate program unless they have an undergraduate degree from a U.S. college or university (in which case the above criteria would apply).

CAU reviews application on a rolling basis.  The deadlines below are intended to serve as benchmarks. Due to our rolling admissions process, we encourage you to apply as early as possible.
