A Virtual Workshops Series on Professional Development

Going the Distance - A Virtual Workshops Series on Professional Development

CAU RISE Program, in partnership with researchers and program leaders at Georgia State University in Atlanta offer you a virtual workshop series on professional development for undergraduate researchers in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.  The effort is motivated by shared goals to maintain student progress toward independent research careers despite the COVID19 pandemic.

The Leadership Team is powered by 75 combined years of education and training experience, with focus on recruitment and retention of students from underrepresented groups.  And we are strengthened by nationally-recognized leaders serving on an External Advisory Board and providing video-content for the workshops.

Sample assignments and overviews are posted as PDFs at the tabs below.  Use them to decide about jumping on board the workshop series.  Once you commit to requiring pre-post curriculum surveys for your students, we will send you the password to the full collection of assignments.  You do *not* need to use all the assignments but can pick-and-choose what works for you.

A virtual celebration rounds out the summer experience, including brief presentations on literature review topics, focus group discussions on the impact of the workshop series, and methods to maintain contact with this new network of peers and supporters.
