CAU Fashion Lookbook

Since it was initiated in 2015, the CAU Fashion Lookbook project has served as a platform for showcasing student and alumni Fashion work at Clark Atlanta University in a professional editorial-style manner. The project has helped strengthen the profile of our students, and provided students with relevant experience through its execution. Students have assisted with styling, location setup and photography. Some have also participated as models.

The success of this endeavor has been largely due to the efforts of our students, the generosity of industry professionals, and the investment of supportive individuals and establishments. We plan to expand the scope of the upcoming edition by producing a printed option that includes an extensive array of student and alumni work for distribution to the fashion community.

We appreciate the impact and significance of past contributions, and kindly ask that you become a valued supporter of this initiative. Your gift ensures that our students and alumni continue to have this polished platform for creative expression and rewarding exposure.

A few weeks prior to the pandemic outbreak, we began developing and shooting images for the 3rd edition of the CAU Fashion Lookbook. However, the project was suspended. This upcoming edition would have been our most ambitious yet.

The economic ramifications of the pandemic have had a financial impact on the project. As a result, we are kindly requesting financial and in-kind support to resume efforts on the latest edition of the CAU Fashion Lookbook. We are also committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our participating students, volunteers, professionals and partners during this process, and would welcome opportunities to partner with local:

  • Photographers
  • Retailers for in-kind donation of shoes and accessories
  • Venue/studio/event space owners and local municipalities for free or affordable access to photoshoot locations and studios

We understand the potential of this initiative to empower and promote our Fashion students in the wake of the pandemic as they pursue professional opportunities. The fashion community has been shifting its resources to foster diversity and the inclusion of student talent from minority backgrounds.

During this climate of change, maintaining a platform through which we can showcase the work and talent of our Fashion students and alumni has become increasingly relevant and urgent.
