Clark Atlanta University’s CAU-TV won the 2026 Georgia Association of Broadcasters Student-Run Station of the Year GABBY award during the GABBY Awards Banquet, which was held in Atlanta on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The award is given to a student-run station that serves an accredited Georgia college or university and demonstrates overall excellence in their school community. Earlier this year, CAU-TV student producers, directors, and crew submitted a package containing examples of programming that were student-led productions. Among the submitted projects were “PantherVision Sports,” coverage of CAU sports teams from fall semester 2025; "AUC Sessions," a mini music concert program that highlights student talents from the AUC; "Blackout," a student lifestyles talk show; "The Review," an industry awards review show; and clips of various campus activities. CAU-TV, which provides practical experience for the university’s relevant academic programming, has four full-time team members, including Bryan Jenkins, who is the general manager and the official supervisor to student volunteers. In addition, there is one work study student currently, and approximately 30 student volunteers, though the station’s reserve roster sometimes expands to about 75. Jenkins says, “CAU-TV is proud to work with our scholars who continue to put the work in behind the scenes and in front of the camera to create, produce, and materialize quality programming for our station.” He attended the awards ceremony, adding, “It was a special moment, a special push, that reiterates the importance of learning, effort, and drive for perfection of coverage!” Founded in 1934 in Savannah, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters—the nation’s first state broadcast association—is the state’s official broadcast association dedicated to ensuring the vitality and growth of the broadcasting industry in Georgia by advocating for the interests of radio and television broadcasters.
