Clark Atlanta University Art Museum to Host Pop-Up Exhibit Featuring Art by Jean-Michel Basquiat

WHAT:    Our Friend Jean, a week-long art exhibition featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat’s early works on loan from several collectors who knew him intimately. The works include drawings, writings, apparel, mixed media collages, and ephemera.

DETAILS: A comprehensive exhibit of Jean-Michele Basquiat’s early works on loan from several collectors who

knew the artist intimately. The group of collectors consists of Jane Diaz, Hilary Jaeger, Katie Taylor, Lucy Sante, Al Diaz, and photographer Alexis Adler who will share personal stories of their friendship with Basquiat. The exhibition was curated by The Bishop Gallery and supported by the Hennessy, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and The Black Group.
