Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association set to Host the 13th Annual Spirit of Greatness Gala

ATLANTA, GA (June 23, 2022) – The Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Alumni Association in collaboration with

Clark Atlanta University is set to host the 13th Annual Spirit of Greatness Gala Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Georgia International Convention Center located at 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30337. 

The event is organized to raise funds for scholarships and programs for students matriculating through

Clark Atlanta University.  This is a signature event for the CAU Alumni Association and Clark Atlanta University, with funds raised totaling more than 1.5 million for students.

“The funds raised from this extraordinary event are much needed because they assist Clark Atlanta University students with continuing their academic endeavors and becoming the leaders of tomorrow,” said Devin White, president of the Clark Atlanta University Alumni Association.

This year’s Thomas W. Cole Jr., Legacy Award and Pathway to Excellence Award honorees are an outstanding group of people. They are: 

  • Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., President, CEO, TWD, Inc.
  • Melanie L. Campbell – President/CEO National Coalition on Black Civic Participation
  • Aisha “Pinky” Cole – CEO/Founder Slutty Vegan Restaurant
  • Deisha Barnett – President Global Communications and Content Strategy UPS

“Under the leadership of our fifth president, Dr. George T. French, Jr. we continue to raise the profile and expand the university’s footprint.  With the momentum of more than 30,000 very powerful, innovative, and influential alumni, the 13th Annual Spirit of Greatness Gala propels the university forward by generating much needed scholarship funding to support successful student matriculation and provides a platform to celebrate our alumni honorees, tell our story and amplify our legacy,” said Dr. Lorri L. Saddler, Vice President, Alumni Relations and Engagement.
