As I previously shared over the weekend, the Clark Atlanta University Coronavirus Response Task Force has been assembled to closely monitor the spread of the COVID-19 virus, also known as the coronavirus, as additional cases are confirmed in the United States and abroad. As part of the task force’s efforts to remain diligent in disseminating all updates issued by the relevant local, state, national and global public health authorities about the virus, I write today to share that Governor Kemp and the Georgia Department of Public Health issued a joint press release earlier this week confirming the state’s first known cases of the coronavirus disease in Fulton County, Georgia.
