CAU to Host FinTech, Finance Industry Experts During Money Smart Week

ATLANTA, GA – April 1, 2019 – In observation of National Money Smart Week, Clark Atlanta University Office of Financial Literacy will host the 3rd Annual AUC Financial Literacy Innovation & Technology Conference, April 1-6, 2019. Empowered by Sparkhouse, a CAU/AUC STEM Entrepreneurial Initiative, this event seeks to increase student interest, faculty support, & participation in the innovation economy, especially in financial services, financial technology (FinTech) and entrepreneurial development.

April 2, 2019 marks FinTech Tuesday, where participants will gather to explore the intersections between education, technology and innovation, and the finance industry:

  • A Financial Address “Delivering the Memo”
    AUC Robert W. Woodruff Library, 10:05 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Lucille H. Maugé, interim president, Clark Atlanta University, will open the day’s events welcoming attendees to the Atlanta University Center. John Hope Bryant, Chairman, Founder, and CEO of Operation Hope will deliver a financial address to the audience on the importance of financial capability.                                                                         

  • The Synergy Room, “A New Look For Our Society”
    AUC Robert W. Woodruff Library, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

In this moderated fireside chat, experts across backgrounds and industries share their views on education and financial literacy, innovation in financial services, and financial technology. They will discuss how to build a sustainable economy within the community by educating its consumers:

  • Sheena Allen, founder, CEO & App Developer, Cap Way
  • Joanne Gaskin, VP of Scores and Analytics, FICO
  • Scott Meyerhoff, CFO, InComm & Board Chairman, FinTech Atlanta
  • John Inhouse, MLWM Market Executive, Merrill Lynch

 

  • Presenter Workshops
    AUC Robert W. Woodruff Library Conference Rooms 301-303, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
    Discover cutting edge technologies and their impact across industries in financial management, business strategy, profitability, and scalability. Presenters include Atlanta Tech Villlage, InComm, Northwestern Mutual, Regions Bank, and Wells Fargo.

Exhibiting companies will showcase exciting, upcoming technologies, applications, and services throughout the day.
