CAU to Host Financial Literacy, Innovation, Technology Conference

ATLANTA, GA -- March 27, 2019 – In observation of National Money Smart Week, Clark Atlanta University Office of Financial Literacy will host the 3rd Annual AUC Financial Literacy Innovation & Technology Conference, April 1-6, 2019. Empowered by Sparkhouse, a CAU/AUC STEM Entrepreneurial Initiative, this event seeks to increase student interest, faculty support, & participation in the innovation economy,

The week-long event includes a Financial Address from Chairman John Hope Bryant, who will personally deliver the memo on financial capability. 

  • Experience the Synergy Room, a new modern day fireside chat, with candid discussions given by industry elites from FICO, Merrill Lynch, Incomm, and FinTech Atlanta.
  • Watch Live Fintech Demonstrations featuring start-up Fintech CEO and mobile app developer, Sheena Allen.
  • Attend Fintech workshops like Block chain with Chris Jones of Dragonchain, or Digital Branding and Marketing with Atlanta Tech Village.
  • Join us for the Overnight Hack-a-thon, The Wolf Den Pitch Competition, amazing technology and Fintech exhibits from Comcast, PNC Bank and much more.

“This event will be a pinnacle time for our communities, Atlanta University Center and Historically Black Colleges and Universities as we collectively empower the evolution of financial wealth, entrepreneurship, consumer knowledge and innovation with the advancing industries of Financial Services, Technology and FinTech,” said Lakesha Landers, director, Financial Literacy. “The opportunities are unprecedented especially since this is underrepresented population in the FinTech industry.”

These events are free of charge, and open to the larger community! This event is empowered by SPARKHOUSE, a CAU/AUC Stem Entrepreneurial initiative (funded by the US Minority Business Development Agency).
