Clark Atlanta University Receives $200,000 in Gifts from NPHC Organizations

ATLANTA, GA -- October 18, 2018 –  Clark Atlanta University is pleased to announce that it has received two monetary donations from local chapters of National Pan Hellenic Council organizations, Omega Psi Phi, Inc. and Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. The Beta Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Inc. and the Sigma chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. each presented a gift of $100,000 to Clark Atlanta University to go towards student scholarships, a grand total of $200,000.

Each group presented a large check to CAU during halftime for the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 13, when the CAU Panthers football team played against the Benedict College Tigers at Panther Stadium.

“I am pleased to accept this award on behalf of the CAU family, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees and alumni,” said CAU president Ronald A. Johnson, Ph.D. “We thank the Beta Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Inc. and the Sigma chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. for their generous support of this beloved institution. The ongoing cultural production and community work of these two organizations embodies the legacy of our dual mottos: ‘Culture for Service" and ‘Find a Way or Make One.’”

Clark Atlanta University celebrates its 2018 Homecoming festivities, scheduled October 7-14, 2018. This year’s festivities, themed “On the Run: Accelerating 30 Years of Greatness”, commemorates the consolidation of Clark College, founded in 1869 and Atlanta University, founded in 1868. It conveys the pride in progress that alumni, students, faculty and friends feel about Clark Atlanta University.

This 2018 Homecoming is designed with fun and informative events for every Panthers fan, students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends. 

The week will begin on Sunday, October 7th with Homecoming Chapel and the birthday celebration honoring minister, international activist and dean of the Civil Rights Movement, Reverend Joseph Echols Lowery, complete with student-run activities and voter registration. The Homecoming highlight will take place on Saturday, October 13 when the CAU Panthers football team takes on the Benedict College Tigers at Panther Stadium.
