The Institutional Advancement team of development officers lead fundraising efforts at Clark Atlanta University. The team’s priority responsibilities are focused on the following:
Annual gifts reach across the university to help deliver extraordinary opportunities for learning and discovery to students and faculty. Each year, gifts from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, friends and students allow the university to increase scholarships, strengthen curricula, fund community service projects, enrich student programs, research and sponsor the arts. These unrestricted gifts enhance the educational experience for all students.
Corporate and Foundation Relations
Alumni & Donor Records processes private donations to the university. The team is responsible for recording and maintaining alumni and donor information, providing biographical and gift processing, and ensuring that all contributions are receipted in a timely manner.
Major gifts are used for expansion, renovations and new programs that ultimately support educational quality and opportunities for deserving CAU students. Major gifts can be in the form of funds for endowments, scholarships or support of special projects.
Planned Giving supports the university and its mission while accommodating the personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals of CAU Donors. The team works with donors to ensure that their gift plans are appropriately documented and executed. With smart planning, Donors may actually increase the size of their estate and/or reduce the tax burden on their heirs. More importantly, donors will know that they have made a meaningful contribution to CAU.
