 2020 - 2021 Faith Initiative

In December 2020, Clark Atlanta University (CAU) launched the CAU 2020 -2021 Faith Initiative in support of the Office of Religious Life. With a goal of $50,000, the University is requesting financial support from our alumni, community leaders and friends. Your financial contributions will provide essential funding needed for the following:

  • Scholarships for students: majoring in Religion & Philosophy, active in Religious Life or help develop leaders in worship
  • Keyboards (2)
  • Complete drum set
  • Microphones
  • Organ
  • Organ Maintenance
  • In-kind donations are welcome

During these uncertain times caused by the pandemic, developing faith in young adults is extremely important; we would like to expand the emphasis of the Office of Religious Life whose purpose is to promote spiritual awareness with not only the student body, but also the faculty, staff and the entire university community.

Headed by Reverend Dr. Tonya L. Miles, the ORL:

  • Develops faith in young adults who are struggling through the pandemic
  • Cultivates the call-in students who are searching for their life's purpose/God's call
  • Leads students to love others as they love God and themselves.

In the past few years, the Office of Religious Life has begun to rebrand itself as C.A.U.S.E. (Clark Atlanta University Soul Experience) to place special emphasis on developing student leaders who help provide spiritual encouragement to the Clark Atlanta University (CAU) community. Introduce CAUSE Leaders because you just start talking about them.

At CAU, these C.A.U.S.E. Leaders plan and lead weekly worship and bible study, pray with other students on campus, and serve the community during alternative spring breaks. Through these efforts, these C.A.U.S.E. Leaders have begun to either explore a call to ministry and consider seminary or explore their faith in relationship to their career plans. All have grown in their faith and are encouraging others to do the same, which is significant because many young adults are claiming to be "done" with mainline religion.

We ask you to invest in America’s future by supporting our students. They will be the teachers who will educate our children, the doctors who will care for us and the ministers who will lead our congregations.  With cuts from the federal government and the community at large, CAU needs you now more than ever!
