Reporting Incidents of Sex Discrimination or Sexual Misconduct

Anyone can report incidents of sex discrimination and sexual misconduct. You may also decide not to submit a report. However, if you’re looking to submit a report of sexual misconduct or sex discrimination or learn more about your reporting options, here’s how you can do that:

  • Submit an online report
  • Call or email the Title IX Coordinator at (404) 880-6158 or rroman@cau.edu to submit a report and/or schedule an appointment.
  • Report the incident to CAU Public Safety staff, Student Affairs Administrators (Director of Student Conduct and Associate Deans of Student Affairs, CAU Athletics Director, Senior Associate Athletic Director of Compliance, Senior Women’s Administrator, any Academic Dean, or the University Provost and Vice-President of Academic Affairs.
  • Report the incident to any Assistant Director of Residence Life if the student is living in on-campus student housing.

Submitting a report to CAU Public Safety staff does not necessarily mean you are filing a report with law enforcement.  However, if a safety risk to the greater campus community is identified, the University may contact law enforcement. In such cases, the University will attempt to notify impacted individuals prior to contacting law enforcement. If you would like to make a separate report to a law enforcement agency, you may contact the appropriate agency before, during, or even after submitting a report.

On-Campus Confidential Resources

Individuals can confidentially discuss incidents of Sex Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct with the following University’s “confidential resources” staff:

  • Any member of the Office of Counseling and Disability Services Center staff-(404) 880-8044; and
  • Any member of the Religious Life staff.

Disclosures made to these confidential resources will be held in strict confidence, and will not constitute a Report to CAU under this Policy. These confidential resources may assist individuals with reporting incidents or filing Formal Complaints if, and only if, they are requested to do so by the individual who has reported the sexual misconduct.

Anonymous and Confidential Reporting

Any individual can make a report anonymously. An individual may report the incident without disclosing their name, identifying the names of other individuals, or requesting any action. However, no investigation into the allegations will occur until a Formal Complaint has been filed. Employees can also submit an anonymous report via the Compliance Hotline at 404-589-8006.  Please see Section 6.5.4 of the Title IX Policy for more information on this reporting option.
