Graduate Studies (Activity 09)
Abstract
The Office of Graduate Studies/Research and Sponsored Programs
provide scholarships for doctoral sciences, technology, engineering,
and mathematics (STEM) students. The support provided allows
the graduate programs in the STEM areas to expand significantly,
thus expanding the number of African-American students entering
the doctoral pipeline at the University. The Office of Graduate
Studies/Research and Sponsored programs promotes and encourages
research mentoring opportunities for graduate students by providing
annual grants or other assistance to permit short-term research
collaborations between students and faculty members.
Objectives
- To increase
student fellowship by 5% above our current level of 42 graduate
students; and
- To increase
mentoring opportunities by 25% over current level of 1.
