Tom Suraphol Apaiwongse is Professor of Marketing at Clark Atlanta University. Professor Apaiwongse earned his doctorate degree in Marketing Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1983. Professor Apaiwongse has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses at Clark Atlanta University in International Marketing, Marketing Research, Marketing Management, Marketing Strategy and Cases, Sales Management, Principle of Marketing, Buyer Behavior, and Special Studies in Research and Publication. Prior to joining the faculty at Clark Atlanta University, Professor Apaiwongse taught at the University of Texas at Austin as well as Indiana University.
Professor Apaiwongse's research interests include Ecological Marketing, Marketing Research, Public Policy issues in Marketing, Industrial and Consumer Behavior with more than 40 refereed mainstream and top ranked academic and professional publications, including the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Industrial Marketing management, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences, Journal of Macro-Marketing, Advances in Environmental Marketing, and numerous national proceedings in marketing, both AMA and others. Dr. Apaiwongse also serves on a number of review boards, including the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing as well as Journal of Marketing Theory and Practices, AMA Proceedings and others. Professor Apaiwongse is a member of the American Marketing Association, Direct Marketing Association, Atlantic Marketing Association, Association of Historical Research in Marketing, Association of Marketing Theory and Practice, Association of International Business Disciplines, Association for Global Competitiveness, and Association of Public Policy and Marketing.
Professor Apaiwongse, a Fulbright scholar, received a Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as several other awards and honors from Who's Who among Teachers in American Universities, Direct Marketing Fellowship Award by the Donald & Geraldine Hedberg Foundation, Service Award for Dedicated Service from the Atlantic Marketing Association, Good Fellow-Outstanding Student Award from the University of Texas at Austin, Research Grants from Indiana University, Dissertation Research Grant from the University of Texas at Austin, Who's Who among Students in American Universities, National Register of Outstanding College Graduates, Beta Gamma Sigma, National Honor Society for Business, Pi Lambda Theta, National Honor Society for Psychology, Phi Kappa Phi, National Honor Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa, National Leadership Honor Society.
