Lynne Patten is an Associate Professor in the Management Department, where she teaches Principles of Management, Business Policy, and the Integrated Capstone Project. She earned a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. from Clark Atlanta University and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Arizona State University.
Her work experience includes being an Assistant Brand Manager for Procter & Gamble, a Sales Planning Manager for The Dial Corporation, and a Sales Representative for The Pillsbury Company. In these positions, she worked on the Pillsbury, Hungry Jack, Green Giant, Sure Antiperspirant/Deodorant, Renuzit, and Dial brands.
Dr. Patten has published articles in the Journal of Public Management and Social Policy, the Southwest Business Administration Journal, the Journal of Management Development and the E-Journal of Business & Economic Issues. In addition, she has published editorial reviewed articles, conference proceedings, and received a grant from the CAU Center of Teaching and Learning.
Finally, Dr. Patten has had many accomplishments while teaching at CAU. After her first year of teaching, she was awarded, “Teacher of the Year” in the Management Department. She is also very active with organizations on campus. A few of her activities include being a member of the University Senate & Budget Committee, Chair of the School of Business Assessment Committee, Advisor to the National Black MBA Case Team, Advisor to the Undergraduate Management Club and Director of the JR MBA Summer Program.
