About the QEP

As a part of the 2016 SACSCOC Reaffirmation of Accreditation process, Clark Atlanta University is developing a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to enhance student learning and/or the environment supporting student learning. 

SACSCOC describes the QEP as “a course of action for enhancing educational quality. Core Requirement 2.12 requires that an institution develop an acceptable Quality Enhancement Plan that focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning. Comprehensive Standard 3.3.2 requires that the institution ensure that it has the capacity to implement and sustain the QEP, that a broad base of stakeholders was involved in the process, and that the QEP identifies goals and a plan to assess their achievements.”


Core Requirement 2.12
"The institution has developed an acceptable Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) that includes an institutional process for identifying key issues emerging from institutional assessment and focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution."


Comprehensive Requirement 3.3.2
"The institution has developed a Quality Enhancement Plan that (1) demonstrates institutional capability for the initiation, implementation, and completion of the QEP; (2) includes broad-based involvement of institutional constituencies in the development and proposed implementation of the QEP; and (3) identifies goals and a plan to assess their achievement."


Based on the current Mission, Vision and 5-Year Strategic Plan of the institution, this QEP will be designed as a 5-year project focused on undergraduate engagement through Research, Scholarship, and Creative Pursuits. The QEP Committees will facilitate the development and implementation of a viable and robust Quality Enhancement Plan to help ensure overall institutional quality and effectiveness in carrying out our mission.
