Mission

The Clark Atlanta University Department of Public Safety protects the students, faculty, staff, visitors and constituents from crime and/or bodily harm; enforces city ordinances, state laws and University policies and directives; provides prompt, courteous, competent and professional assistance; and establishes Clark Atlanta University as one of the safest universities in the world to live and learn. This mission is accomplished by meeting the following objectives:

1. Preventing crime through effective patrol deployment,
    constant visibility, and residential involvement.

2. Maintaining a high standard of professional conduct.

3. Providing quality training for officers and supervisors.

4. Regulating campus access.

5. Utilizing effective technology for campus security.

6. Managing and controlling campus events.

The Police Department also enforces non-criminal regulations established by the University, i.e., non-criminal use of alcohol, noise violations, curfew violations, proper facilities use, etc.
