CAU Hosts Launch of Call
To Service Pilot Program For Federal Jobs
Clark Atlanta University
hosted the launch of the "Call to Serve Campaign,"
an outreach initiative designed to encourage students to consider
federal careers. The event took place on Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. in
the multipurpose room of the Bishop Cornelius Henderson Student
Center on CAU's campus. CAU was selected by the Partnership for
Public Service to participate as a pilot school for this campaign
and is the only HBCU in the pilot. "We are very pleased
to play a leadership role in hosting the launch of this initiative,"
said Dr. Walter "The Transformer" Broadnax, president
of CAU. "As a part of our mission, we expose our students
to various career opportunities, including those with the federal
government, and we encourage them to be leaders in changing their
communities for the better." CAU alumna Myrtle S. Habersham,
the chief strategic officer for the Social Security Administration,
was the keynote speaker.
