Clark Atlanta President Emeritus to Lead CAU Homecoming Parade

ATLANTA, GA -- October 2018 – Clark Atlanta University is proud to announce that CAU President Emeritus Thomas W. Cole, Jr., Ph.D., and First Lady Brenda Hill Cole will be the official Grand Marshals for the 2018 Homecoming parade, starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018.

Dr. Cole is nationally recognized for his contributions to science and his leadership in higher education. As the president of Clark College, Dr. Cole led the oversight and planning for the consolidation of Clark College and Atlanta University; he became Clark Atlanta University's first president in 1988. Previously, he had been Chancellor of West Virginia Board of Regents and President of West Virginia State College.

The Honorable Brenda H. Cole, a Clark College alumnae, Class of 1967, serves as a Fulton County Senior State Court Judge. Mrs. Cole is also an arbiter, mediator, and special master in disputes at JAMS, the largest private alternative dispute resolution provider in the world.

Dr. and Mrs. Cole will be joined at the Homecoming Parade by the "Mighty Marching Panther" band; Miss Clark Atlanta University and her Royal Court; "Legacy" Alumni along with several local high school bands and youth groups.

The parade route will start on Walnut Street to Martin Luther King Drive (westbound) to Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard (southbound) to Atlanta Student Movement (ASM) Boulevard (formerly Fair Street).  From Atlanta Student Movement Boulevard, the parade will continue to the viewing stand at the main entrance of the Clark Atlanta University campus, with the parade ending back at Walnut Street.

Saturday evening, the CAU Panthers football team will take on the Benedict College Tigers at Panther Stadium.
