ATLANTA (September 20) – Clark Atlanta University (CAU) will host its 29th Opening Convocation Thursday, Sept. 21. Here are the details:
WHO: Clark Atlanta University President Ronald A. Johnson, Ph.D., will preside over this event featuring Center for Civil and Human Rights CEO Derreck Kayongo, who will deliver the keynote address.
WHAT: This year’s convocation focuses on IDEAS. In addition to engaging students to envision the future through problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity, IDEAS also represents CAU’s foundational approach to higher education: Innovation and entrepreneurship; design and systems thinking; environmental sustainability; the arts and humanities; and the sciences and technology.
WHEN: The convocation takes place Thursday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m.

WHY: Mr. Kayongo was chosen to deliver the keynote address because his personal and career trajectory exemplify how the power of one idea can improve peoples’ lives.
