ATLANTA (Dec. 21, 2016) Dozens of families from Atlanta’s Fain Elementary School won’t be left out come Christmas morning thanks to the generosity of some hardworking Clark Atlanta University staffers. Workers from the Department of Student Involvement and Leadership partnered with CAU student-clubs, staff from other departments and Fain social worker and CAU alumna Adelia Johnson to provide dozens of disadvantaged children with hundreds of dollars in Toys “R” Us gift cards.
A total of 24 families, who might have otherwise done without, will now wake up on Christmas to bicycles, action figures, video games and more of their favorite toys under the tree. It’s part of CAU’s annual Tis the Season program to adopt deserving families for Christmas.
“It’s all about giving back and sharing the blessings we have been given,” said participant Tracye Paggett, a program coordinator in Student Involvement and Leadership. She and her colleagues are already looking forward to adopting more families in 2017.
CAU has a long and rich history of supporting members of the West End community surrounding the University. Thank you to our students, staff and faculty for being a true personification of our motto, “Culture for Service.”Category: Staff, Faculty
