ATLANTA (Sept. 26, 2016)    The pomp and circumstance surrounding the official installation of Ronald A. Johnson, Ph.D., as the fourth president of Clark Atlanta University (CAU) continues at the Presidential Scholarship Reception and Gala; then, immediately afterward at the Paws on Peachtree Afterglow post-party with a purpose.  Proceeds from both of these inauguration events will benefit the President's Scholarship Fund.

Conceptualized with significant input from CAU alumni, the Presidential Scholarship Reception and Gala will take place Sat., Oct. 8, 2016, at 6 p.m., in the Duke Ellington Ballroom at the Loews Atlanta Hotel located at 1065 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta.  This event will afford CAU alumni and other key constituents and partners the opportunity to meet and congratulate President Johnson face to face.  Dining and entertainment will be provided for this critically important charity scholarship event.

Also in partnership with CAU alumni, the Paws on Peachtree Afterglow will be held in the Overlook Room at the Loews Atlanta Hotel beginning at 9 p.m. Sat., Oct. 8.  This is a chance for CAU alumni, friends and partners to have fun and party with a purpose to support much needed scholarships for current students.  Entertainment will be provided by CAU alumni and celebrity DJ's Trauma, Mars and Cannon Kent.

“We are elated to offer our alumni, special friends and partners an opportunity to support our core mission,” said Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement and University Relations Getchel A. Caldwell II.  “The newly established President’s Scholarship Fund will aid in continuing to recruit and retain high performing students at Clark Atlanta University.  CAU experienced record enrollment over the last two years.  Join us in this celebration to usher in a new and exciting chapter in the life of Clark Atlanta under the leadership of Ronald A. Johnson,” Caldwell remarked.
