Lynne Patten, Ph.D. (second from left), associate professor in the School of Business at Clark Atlanta University (CAU), was recently named CAU’s Vulcan Teacher of the Year by Vulcan Materials Company.  Along with stellar teaching accolades, Patten manages the Jr. MBA Summer Camp at CAU and serves as advisor to CAU’s National Black MBA Case Team, which has won $40,000 in student awards in the last four years.  Patten received both the bachelor’s and master’s degree from CAU and a doctorate in public administration from Arizona State University.  Acting Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Bettye Clark, Ph.D.; Jeff Phillips, Ph.D., associate professor in the School of Business; and Marilynn Davis, CAU’s chief of staff and special assistant to the president, join in the award presentation during the University’s Opening Institute Aug. 12.
