Thanks for being a continued strong supporter and advocate for educational improvements in P-12 Education in our state. It is encouraging to note the level of consistency with which you continue to champion the cause of education, while at the same time reminding us of the need to do better. Suffice it to state that your forthright participation in this on-going odyssey toward excellence in education has not gone unnoticed and unappreciated.
This letter comes as an invitation for you to attend our Community Dialogue Forum sponsored by the School of Education at Clark Atlanta University on November 10, 2015, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the Thomas Cole Research Auditorium. The topic for discussion is “University-Community Dialogue on Critical Issues in P-12 Education.” This forum is designed to create between the School of Education at Clark Atlanta University and key community constituents a more dynamic relationship and exchange of information regarding critical issues affecting P-12 Education in Georgia.
There will be a cohort of panelists who will provide updates and perspectives on several critical issues, including:
1. The Urgency for Parental Engagement
2. Equity Funding for P-12 Education
3. Alternative Governance Models in Education
4. The Proposed Constitutional Amendment to Create an Opportunity School District
5. Safe Schools for Our Communities
I hope that you will accept this invitation to join us at historic Clark Atlanta University for this critical dialogue on issues of great significance. You will have an opportunity to ask questions from the audience during the question and answer period.
