Clark Atlanta University sadly mourns the death of alumna and nationally renowned educator Pearlie Craft Dove, Ed.D. (CC, '41; AU, '43). She died at her home Tuesday evening, Aug. 18. As a student, she distinguished herself in the classroom and in service. As an educator, she set a high standard for excellence in teacher education, influencing and promoting best practices in the field throughout her life. As an alumna, distinguished professor and professor emerita, she consistently demonstrated her loyal support and compassion for the students, faculty and staff of Clark Atlanta University. Her visionary work and leadership will forever be part of the University's fabric, particularly through the continued outreach of the annual Pearlie C. Dove, Ed.D., Colloquium in the School of Education. She was the recipient of numerous honors and awards, among them a 2014 Spirit of Greatness Pathways to Excellence Award.
