Michael E. Melton

Michael E. Melton is founder, president, and CEO of TME Enterprises (TME). Headquartered in Atlanta, the company owns and manages a portfolio of commercial real estate properties and restaurants. Mr. Melton is also an attorney with more than 30 years of experience in the field of intellectual property law (litigation and licensing) and the management of corporate intellectual property law departments. He is also a published author and frequent lecturer on topics pertaining to intellectual property law. He currently practices law as a partner with the firm of Norris & Melton, PLLC and its intellectual property management, consulting and licensing arm, IP Counsel Consultants. His previously held positions include chief intellectual property counsel for PH2 Solutions, Inc.; vice president and director of Intellectual Property for Motorola, Inc.; deputy general counsel for Intellectual Property for Pitney Bowes; director and chief patent counsel for MCI Communications Corporation; and European legal counsel for Texas Instruments, Inc.
Mr. Melton is a member of Leadership Greater Washington class of 2007; Life Fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation; Board member, One Hundred Black Men of America, Inc. and President of the Washington, D.C. Chapter; Principal and founding member of the Board of Directors of the Merit Bank (Overland Park, Kansas); board member, Urban League of Northern Virginia; Audit Committee member of the National Head Start Association; and member, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. His prior affiliations include Advisory Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington and Board Member of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship.
He holds the Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri, and is a life member of the University’s alumni association.
