Joe W. Laymon is vice president of Human Resources, Medical and Security, for the Chevron Corporation. In this capacity, he oversees Chevron’s global human resources, medical services, and security functions. Mr. Laymon joined Chevron in 2008 after serving as Group Vice President of Corporate Human Resources and Labor Affairs for the Ford Motor Company. Prior to joining Ford in 2000, he worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with assignments in Zaire and Washington, D.C. He joined Xerox Corporation in 1979, and over the course of 17 years, held a number of senior human resources and labor positions, including chief labor negotiator, including the Eastman Kodak Company where he held several human resources positions, including vice president of Human Resources for U.S. and International Operations.
Mr. Laymon is a member of the Human Resources Network in the Petroleum Industry (PetroNet) and the Human Resources Policy Association. He is on the Board of Directors of Molex, Inc., The Leon Sullivan Foundation, and the United Way of the Bay Area. He is a regional advisor to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Mr. Laymon received the bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin.
