GREAT NEWS! Carnegie Classification for Clark Atlanta University
CAU is classified as a Research University - High Research Activity!!!!!! A discrepancy was
discovered between the IPEDS Survey sent by CAU for the Carnegie
Classification and the actual number of doctoral degrees conferred
by CAU for AY 2003-2004. Academic Year 2003-2004 was the year
used to determine the Carnegie Classification. CAU notified The
Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching that an error
was made in the IPEDS Survey and the Carnegie Classification
has been changed.
The classification system for American Colleges and Universities
was revised and the 2005 sub-categories for doctorate degree-granting
institutions are:
Research University (very high research activity), Research
University (high research activity), and Doctoral/Research
University.
