Welcome to Clark Atlanta University Summer Programs! At Clark Atlanta University, we pride ourselves on offering a wide variety of trainings, camps, clinics, workshops, conferences, etc. each summer.  This helps the institution to help carry out its mission of educating diverse populations.  We value the opportunity to provide our educational services and facilities to help further education throughout the metro Atlanta area.  Clark Atlanta University encourages the use of its facilities for summer events.  There are many important reasons why the summer events are encouraged by the University and its employees, as these events attract many different populations to experience the rich history and unique atmosphere that the university has to offer.  The impressions and experience gained by young people that attend a summer event at Clark Atlanta University can have a significant impact on their choice of college.  Additionally, summer events provide an excellent opportunity to acquaint a large number of people with Clark Atlanta University in a short period of time.

Summer Programs Policies

Section I - Accident and Medical Insurance (Minors Only)

In case of an emergency, Clark Atlanta University requires that every summer event with minor participants have accidental/medical insurance. As a result, Clark Atlanta University charges a $10/person fee to ensure that all summer events with minor participants have accident/medical insurance.

An exemption from the $10/person fee will be granted if BOTH of the following two (2) conditions are met:

  • Proof of accidental/medical insurance for each participant is provided.
  • Each participant completes the Liability and Waiver Agreement form.

Section II - General Liability Insurance Requirement

Clark Atlanta University requires that all client groups hosting an event during the summer have general liability insurance for the event in the amount of $1,000,000. A copy of the certificate of insurance for General Liability, Employers’ Liability, and Automobile Liability policy must be provided in order to host an event at Clark Atlanta University. The certificate of insurance shall name Clark Atlanta University as an additional insured. If any subcontractor is used, the vendor acting on the behalf of the client group is also required to carry the same coverage and insurance outlined herein.

Section III - Campus ID

All events that last longer than one (1) day are need to be clearly identified and are required to have CAU Campus ID for ALL event participants. This will be an additional fee of $6.00/person.

Section IV - Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement

I acknowledge and agree that my organization’s participation in the event to be held at Clark Atlanta University (“the University”) is completely voluntary. As such, as a condition of my organization’s participation in the event and in consideration for the University allowing this event on its campus, I, on behalf of my organization, hereby hold Clark Atlanta University, Inc., its trustees, officers, directors, agents, servants, employees, representatives and attorneys, individually and collectively, harmless and waive any and all rights and claims for relief, actions, causes of action, suits, debts, liens, contracts, obligations, agreements, promises, representations, liabilities, demands, losses, costs and expenses (including attorney’s fees) of every kind, character or nature whatsoever, known or unknown, fixed or contingent, including, but not limited to claims based on negligence or for personal injury or property damage, which might arise out of my organization’s voluntary participation on the University’s campus.

In further consideration for the University allowing my organization’s on its campus, I also agree to hold harmless, indemnify and defend Clark Atlanta University, Inc., its trustees, officers, directors, agents, servants, employees, representatives, and attorneys, individually and collectively, from any claims for relief, actions, causes of action, suits, debts, obligations, liabilities, damages, demands, losses, costs and expenses (including attorney’s fees) brought or incurred as a result of my organization’s participation on the University’s campus, and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred. I further agree that if any portion of this Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement is held invalid, the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.

Section V - Non-Refundable Deposit

After your application has been received and approved, a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 will be required to complete the application process. Please note, no room, food, or housing reservations will be made or considered until the following are completed:

  1. The Summer Programs application is submitted and approved.
  2. The $100.00 non-refundable deposit has been received.
