Urban Marketing Research Institute

The Urban Marketing Research Institute addresses the need for better understanding and research of urban consumer markets. As part of the Marketing Department, the Institute explores creative ways to reach diverse consumer groups. School of Business Administration students increase their technical knowledge, gain exposure to new methods of targeting ethnic consumers, and receive practical marketing experience prior to graduation.

The Institute objectives are the:

  • Establishment of a comprehensive database on local and national trends relating to the consumer behavior of minorities and other ethnic groups.
  • Collaboration with companies and individuals on projects that impact product development, distribution, and promotion.
  • Development of a trained pool of racially diverse students with experience in ethnic consumer marketing.

To inquire about current activities and research projects, contact the Institute at (404) 880-8483.
