Dear CAU Family, Friends and Supporters:

Clark Atlanta University boasts a bright, talented and vibrant student body that is being prepared for leadership. However, more than 90 percent of our students need financial assistance to attend college, which is why we are excited, energized and grateful to be Tom Joyner’s October School of the Month (SOTM). It is reassuring to know that in this harsh economic climate HBCUs across the country, like CAU, can depend on Tom Joyner to advance the cause of our institutions and raise monies to provide much-needed financial support to the students we serve.

CAU will host a kick-off celebration on campus at the first home football game, September 12, 2009. CAU is thankful to the foundation for designating our university as the October SOTM; this is an outstanding opportunity and now we need your help to take full advantage of our selection as SOTM.  Beginning today, we are calling upon all alumni, supporters and friends to GIVE IT UP for CAU, for Tom Joyner and most important of all, for the many students that deserve to reach their dreams.

Your donation, large or small, can help make the difference between a student having the needed funds to persist and graduate and a student having to abandon their dream of a college degree.

Our goal is to raise $250,000. When alumni chapters or affinity groups (i.e., Greek organizations, social groups, etc.) partner to raise at least $50,000, we have an opportunity for a match of .50 cents for each dollar ($25,000). 

As added incentive, gifts made to the 2009-2010 Annual Fund can count toward the Tom Joyner SOTM campaign if the check is received  BEFORE December 31, 2009. You may begin sending gifts today to count toward the goal by forwarding your check or money order to:
