Credit Balance Refunds
Direct Deposit of
Refunds
Clark Atlanta University offers the service of delivering refunds more quickly by direct deposit to a checking or savings account. Direct deposit is free. To sign up, students must complete an authorization form, attach a voided check (for checking accounts only), and submit both to the Office of Student Accounts. Authorization forms are available in the Office of Student Accounts.
Students who do not sign up for direct deposit will receive refunds by check, mailed to the student's permanent home address. Students are responsible for ensuring their address is current. Receiving a refund by check generally takes longer than direct deposit; therefore students are highly encouraged to use the direct deposit option.
Notes:
- Credits from external scholarships may need approval from donor before refund is processed.
- Institutional scholarships are nonrefundable.
- Credits from credit card payments will be refunded to the SAME card that was used to make payment.
- Personal check payments will be refunded fourteen (14) business days after the account shows a credit balance.
Parent Plus Refunds will be mailed to the parents at the address on record for the Parent. Upon written authorization the Parent, Parent Plus loans may be refunded to the student.
*Important*
Parent Plus Loan Refunds -Students will not be allowed to pick up Parent Plus refunds.
PAW Card Advances
Beginning Fall 2011 Academic term, the advances made to the PAW Card has changed. PAW Card advances will be made available to students beginning August 31, 2011. The criteria for receiving the advance will include the following:
Undergraduate Students
- Undergraduate Student must be Pell Eligible (Awarded a Pell grant for the Academic Year)
- Attendance in class within the first five days of the school year (August 24 – August 30)
- The amount of the advance will vary depending on the enrollment status:
- 6-8 cr hrs: $400
- 9-11 cr hrs: $600
- 12 + cr hrs: $800
Students meeting the above criteria will automatically have the funds loaded to the PAW Card for use on September 1st.
Graduate Students
- Graduate Students will receive up to a total of $1,000 on the PAW Card on Sept 1, 2011.
- Graduate Students must complete a Title IV authorization form in the Office of Student Accounts to receive these funds on the PAW Card.
