BACKGROUND: This nonpartisan event is a part of a larger initiative this year on CAU’s campus to encourage voter registration and education. Classes have been cancelled on Election Day so that students can commit to community service projects and assist in getting voters to the polls. Various campus groups are involved, including the Student Government Association, the Organization for Social Change, the National Council for Negro Women, the Political Science Club, the Pre-Law Society and the Pan-Hellenic Council.
