The Mission
of the Division
To develop
support, build relationships, and raise money among CAU's primary
external constituencies - students, alumni, faculty and staff,
trustees, corporations and foundations, parents and friends,
as defined by the University's mission, goals, programs and activities.
The three central units to the University's fund-raising enterprise
are Institutional Advancement (fundraising and advancement information
systems), University Relations (marketing and communications),
and Alumni Affairs. These offices report to the Vice President
for Institutional Advancement and University Relations.

Annual Fund
- Supporting a
Heritage of Excellence
The Clark Atlanta University Annual Fund was established to encourage,
promote and recognize the on going loyalty of Clark Atlanta University
alumni, friends, parents, corporate and organizational supporters.
The CAU Annual Fund is the cornerstone of the Universitys
mission to help CAU remain affordable to students from all backgrounds.
With its shared goals of encouraging donor participation and
increasing annual unrestricted giving, the CAU Annual Fund draws
upon alumni, friends, parents and supporters to provide Clark
Atlanta University with a firm foundation of financial support.
The CAU Annual Fund is a catalyst for leveraging individual generosity
into collective energy resulting in an increase in alumni and
community engagement and participation. It represents a dynamic
interaction of people working together to achieve great things
in the nameClark Atlanta University.
Gifts made to the CAU Annual Fund are both restricted and unrestricted.
Unrestricted gifts enable the University to use the money where
it is most needed. Restricted gifts are directed to a specific
area designated by the donor. Your annual gifts continue to improve
the University and provide a lasting impact on the lives of its
students. As a premier institution of higher learning, financial
assistance for students stands at the heart of CAU's heritage.
University Development
The Division
of Institutional Advancement and University Relations works with
the deans, faculty, and administrative leadership of the University
to cultivate individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations
to support the mission of Clark Atlanta University by soliciting
funds for the following fund-raising priorities:
- Student Scholarships
- Student Support/Services
- Faculty Recruitment
and Retention
- Graduate Programs
Support and Enrichments
- Capital and
Infrastructure Improvements
The IA/UR fund-raising
team works with all University constituencies to position CAU
with external community to maximize potential donor opportunities.
The central
IA/UR staff:
Coordinates
all relationships with external donors and supporters;
Processes gifts
that are given to CAU;
Manages the
University's alumni and donor database.
