In the final Du Bois Reading Seminar Series program of 2012, Clark Atlanta University will investigate W. E. B. Du Bois' writings on business and the economy Friday, Nov. 30, at noon in the Cole Science Research Center. Works under consideration will include: The Negro in Business (1899); Business and Business Education (1947, Joseph Pierce, ed.); and Economic Cooperation (1907, 1917). Panelists for this session will include: CAU School of Business Acting Dean Charles Moses, Ph.D.; Ajamu Nyomba, Ph.D., assistant professor of economics; Donald Vest, Ph.D., assistant professor of marketing; Carol Anderson, Ph.D., associate professor of African-American Studies, Emory University; and Frederick Knight, Ph.D., chair of the Morehouse College Department of History. The reading series dovetails into CAU's 2013 Du Bois Conference, a four-day homage to his life and scholarship at Atlanta University. The conference also marks the 50th anniversary of his death.
