The Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development (CCRTD) at Clark Atlanta University (CAU) is hosting its annual town hall forum in partnership with CAU-TV on November 15, 2012 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. The theme for the forum is “The Impact of Prostate Cancer in the African American Community”. Prostate cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed forms of cancer in the United States. When compared with other male counterparts, African-American males are diagnosed much later and the mortality rate is 2.4 times higher. We invite you to join us as we discuss the effect that prostate cancer has among African-American men. The Cancer Center will be assembling prostate cancer researchers, advocates, and researchers together for a national dialogue on the most compelling issues pertaining to advocacy, education, diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer in the African-American community. Confirmed panelist include: Linda Blount, President, WFG; Reverend Willie Bolden, Pastor, Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church; Dr. Rudy Lombard, President and Founder, Second Opinion Society; and Dr. Shafiq Khan, Director, CCRTD. It is our hope that this forum will create a culture of cooperation and collaboration, which will allow individuals to assemble and strategize on how we can better collaborate in educating communities about prostate cancer. Come and have your questions answered from our expert panelists. For more information please contact CCRTD at 404-880-6878 or at
