Event Information:
As of Thursday, September 6, 2012, the on-going RISE for SUCCESS (Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement) (Securing Undergraduate Competencies in gatewayCourses through Enhanced Study and Mentoring Support) Program officially launched for the Fall semester 2012. The RISE for SUCCESS Program is an intervention and retention program. To help our students develop the requisite study habits, mandated and centralized study and mentoring sessions will be offered during the fall semester 2012. All RISE program freshman and sophomore students, as well as juniors and seniors in need of academic support are required to participate in the program. This program is innovative because it will provide structured academic support for students in difficult gateway courses and will be implemented in collaboration with faculty in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, psychology and other academic areas in the School of Arts and Sciences. The RISE for SUCCESS Program is not only for RISE trainees, but for all students in STEM, including Psychology. The RISE for SUCCESS Program is offered through our NIH-funded RISE grant. For more information, contact Ms. LaShandra Owens, RISE Student Academic Support Coordinator, SRC, Room 3005-B; (404) 880-6868;
