Activity Narrative:

The main purpose of the Office of Planning, Assessment and Research (OPAR) Activity is to coordinate a streamlined integrated planning, budgeting, and evaluation process throughout the University. This process will promote a centralized institutional research data retrieval, analysis of the information and dissemination of information. Thereby, allowing for data information dissemination to be consistent, accurate, and timely. Thus, the university administration and management will be able to make decisions based on accurate reports.

OPAR will also collect institutional program outcomes through a centralized electronic system. This system will focus on the following: 1) promoting continuous assessment of programs and services for improvement; and 2) developing online mechanisms for instructional, administrative, and education support services for evaluation, planning, and resource allocation for institutional effectiveness.

Further, this activity will strengthen the University by: 1) continuously seeking ways to create, analyze, and transform data information for decision-makers; 2) effectively interacting electronically with others by producing and publishing documents that reflect more accurately the status and accomplishments of all units of the University; 3) streamlining processes for accommodating data growth and the expected anticipated increase for programs and services for several years; and 4) interfacing with core student information systems and core business-information systems to systematically assess the effectiveness and productivity of its academic, administrative and educational support programs and services continuously.
