The Center of Excellence for Faculty Development

The Clark Atlanta University’s Center of Excellence for Faculty Development (CEFD) is a HBCU, Title III activity that serves as the primary unit for offering professional development opportunities to support faculty in the teaching and learning environment. The CEFD addresses the University’s Strategic Priority #2: Build Institutional Capacity; and Strategic Priority #3: Align Learning, Knowledge/Discovery, and Performance.

The CEFD’s mission is to support and enhance student-centered teaching and learning at Clark Atlanta University by providing professional development opportunities and instructional media services. All activities, events, and training workshops are designed to enhance and support the professional needs of both new and tenured faculty members as well as graduate student teaching assistants (TAs) in three major focus areas:

  1. Teaching Effectiveness;
  2. Research and Scholarship; and
  3. Instructional Design/Redesign of Curricula utilizing technology-based applications.
