Michael E. Melton
Michael E. Melton is an attorney with more than 24 years of experience in the field of intellectual property law (litigation and licensing) and the management of corporate intellectual property law departments. He is currently a partner with Norris, Braden, Melton & Gregersen, P.L.L.C., and its intellectual property, management, consulting and licensing arm of IP Counsel Consultants and also Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for PH2 Solutions, Inc., In addition to his legal practice, Michael is Founder, President and CEO of TME Enterprises. I., LTD (‘TME”). TME, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, owns and manages a portfolio of commercial real estate and restaurants.
In prior positions he was Vice president and Director of Intellectual property for Motorola, Inc., Deputy General Counsel for Intellectual Property for Pitney Bowes, Director and Chief Patent Counsel for MCI Communications Corporations and European Counsel for Texas Instruments, Inc. Melton is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, a member of Leadership Greater Washington class of 2007, Life Fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation, a member of the One Hundred Black Men of America, Inc., Principal and founding member of the Board of Directors of the First State Bank of Goff (Goff, Kansas), Advisory Board member of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship Board, Board member of the Urban League of Northern Virginia and is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Melton has a B.S degree in Electrical Engineering and a J.D. degree from the University of Missouri and is a life member of the University’s alumni association. Melton is a published author and frequent lecturer on topics pertaining to intellectual property law.
