Carl Ware (CC ’65)
Carl Ware’s (CC’65) connection with CAU runs long and deep. Ware, one of The Coca-Cola Company’s highest ranking executives until his retirement in February 2003, served as the chair of CAU’s Board of Trustees for 15 years—helping to guide the college through a series of historical achievements during his tenure. He was chair at the time of the consolidation of Atlanta University and Clark College, which was a monumental undertaking and achievement. He was also chair when the institution began its realignment in 2003. Ware concluded his term as chair of the CAU Board in 2003. His legacy of service at CAU remains evident in one of the University’s newest multi-million dollar academic facilities, the Carl and Mary Ware Academic Center, which opened in 2004. The Wares are currently the University’s largest alumni donors.
