Brenda W. Walker (CC’75)
Brenda W. Walker is a leading financial investment executive with over 25 years of experience in the field. In her current role as Senior Vice president at Smith Breeden Associates, she has realized significant professional achievements in developing and structuring marketing and investment products and asset management services to institutional investors, including corporate, public foundations and endowments, raising over $10 billion from plan sponsors.
Walker has held a variety of senior managerial and analytical positions with major financial institutions and entrepreneurial entities, such as the White House – Council of Economic Advisors, J. P. Morgan Asset Management, MetLife, and Bellemead Development Corporation, a subsidiary of the Chubb Group, The Amerlior Foundation, the Enterprise Foundation and Aetna Life & Casualty. Walker is a member of several boards, including the North Carolina School of Science & Math, which promotes the advancement of science and math with minority students, the Leadership Council for the Center for Child and Family Health in North Carolina and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Walker holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Physics from Clark College, an M.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from MIT and an M.B.A. degree in Finance from the Wharton School.
