Peer Teaching Assistants assist professors in the First Year Seminar and serve as mentors to first year students.

Peer Teaching Assistant Selection Criteria
Preference is given to Clark Atlanta University students who have demonstrated the following:
Interest in helping fellow students be successful
Academic success at CAU measured by a minimum GPA of 3.0
History of student leadership/involvement in campus life
Sensitivity to and interest in issues of diversity and community service
Enthusiasm for the University, its students, staff, faculty and academic and co-curricular life
Commitment to encouraging other students to achieve the ideals of CAU
Peer Leader Benefits
Experience in leadership, moderating discussions and planning a successful learning environment for first year students
Accomplishment of performing a public/University service for its intrinsic value
Acquisition of knowledge of group dynamics and new, interpersonal, communication skills
Intrinsic satisfaction in helping CAU first year students
